Hey everyone! My name is Justin. I am a student at Johnson County Community College in Kansas in the U.S. This spring semester I will be studying abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico. I am hoping to receive a scholarship known as the Gilman Scholarship. It is a nationally competitive scholarship for students who receive Pell grants. Part of what determines whether or not you are chosen to receive the scholarship is a project you create about your study abroad experience to share with your school, community, or everyone. For my project I chose to create this blog which I will update weekly with different segments including: an interview with a local from the city, an interview with another study abroad student, a city photo of the week with a caption, a food feature, news from Dr. Carmen’s clinic ( a clinic I will be volunteering at), a story from the week, a new vocabulary word, and a social faux pas.
